Millions of homes are sold each year and each transaction is different. Nevertheless, every home owner wants the same thing...the best deal with the least amount of hassle and aggravation.

The process of selling a home has changed. It has become more complex than it used to be. That means the process is not as easy for sellers as it was five or ten years ago. But there are certain steps that, when taken, give you the best chance of successfully selling your home.
 
   

Step 1 - Realistically evaluate your home.

 

Look at your home through the eyes of a prospective buyer and determine what needs to be fixed, painted, cleaned up, repaired, and tossed out.

Choosing a realtor is possibly the most important step in the decision to sell your home. As mentioned above, the process of selling a home has become more complex. Having a professional by your side that can make the best deal for you in today's complicated real estate climate is a must.

 
   

Step 3 - Set the price

 

What is your home worth?  All homes have a price, sometimes more than one.  There is the price you would like to get, the value the seller wants to offer, and the point in-between where both sides agree to meet.

Step 4 - Market your home

 

Marketing strategies should be carefully designed to factor in a variety of things such as the uniqueness of the home, the current condition of the real estate market, and interest rates.

Step 5 - Sell It

 

Selling a home involves a full spectrum of personal and business concerns. Plus it can be complex with people looking at your home, documents to sign, and negotiations to handle. Preparation is the key for success.

Step  6 - Close

 

Whew!  It's over!  A buyer was found. A price was agreed on.  You are "home free", as they say. Not necessarily.
